Check the source before a campaign moves toward a launch.
Use one record for the approved source, permitted claim, destination, form, UTM reference, held question, owner route, safe evidence, stop condition, and recheck. It prepares an owner review; it does not approve or change a campaign.
This record does not choose targeting, audiences, budgets, bids, claims, offers, consent, final wording, scheduling, publication, platform permissions, tracking, a live destination, campaign changes, or performance conclusions. Authorized marketing, privacy, publishing, and platform owners control those decisions.
Four control fields
A useful source check keeps the evidence and the decision apart.
The record says what was checked, what is held, and who can act next.
Control field
Approved source and claim-support reference
Record the approved brief, source, claim-support reference, campaign or material label, and safe location. Do not paste audience lists, customer data, credentials, exports, restricted screenshots, private files, or platform-access details into this record.
Control field
Approved destination, form, and UTM references
Link the already approved destination, form path, and written UTM rule. A preparer can record what is present, missing, or inconsistent; they cannot change a destination, form, tracking, copy, or campaign.
Control field
Held question or action
Name the missing approval, unsupported claim, consent question, unclear owner, or proposed action that needs review. Targeting, audiences, budgets, bids, claims, offers, consent, publishing, platform permissions, and performance interpretation stay held.
Control field
Reviewer, publishing owner, and recheck
Name the marketing reviewer and authorized owner who can approve, schedule, publish, pause, or change a campaign. Keep safe evidence, the written decision, a stop condition, and a business-set recheck together.
Fictional examples
A source check can surface a gap without granting permission to fix it.
These fictional records cover pre-launch sources, claims, destinations, forms, and tracking references. For report metrics and their interpretation, use the campaign report source-review sheet. On smaller screens, scroll the table sideways to read every field.

Fictional record MCS-014: onboarding newsletter source check
A fictional approved newsletter brief, asset reference, destination URL, and written UTM rule are linked. The preparer notes that the form path is present and the consent reference is not attached.
Recipient selection, send timing, subscriber consent, headline claim, final wording, scheduling, sending, and campaign-setting changes stay held.
A fictional marketing owner reviews the packet; a privacy owner reviews the consent question and an authorized publishing owner controls any send.
Safe brief and checklist references, held-item note, written owner decision reference, and a business-set recheck.
Fictional record MCS-029: landing-page offer source check
A fictional landing-page brief, approved asset version, destination reference, and link, form, and UTM checklist are linked without customer data or platform credentials.
An unsupported outcome statement and proposed form-field change are held. The preparer does not alter the page, form, tracking, audience, budget, or campaign state.
A fictional marketing owner reviews the claim question; an authorized web or publishing owner controls any live-page change. A privacy owner reviews the form-data question when needed.
Safe source references, preview-check note, owner decision reference, stop condition, and a business-set recheck.
Copy-ready record
Keep the source, check, owner decision, and recheck together without copying restricted data.
Paste this into the business's approved system. Use safe references, not audience lists, customer data, credentials, exports, private files, or platform-access details.

Review steps
Prepare the record. Stop before a campaign decision.
A preparer can collect permitted references, record an observed gap, and route it to the named owner. The owner decides whether anything changes.
Open the approved source and record the campaign, newsletter, or landing-page reference, allowed claim, destination, and safe evidence location. Hold the record if the source, reviewer, publishing owner, consent reference, or access boundary is missing or unclear.
Compare the approved material, link, form, and UTM references with the written checklist. Record an observed pass, gap, or question without changing copy, creative, a destination, tracking, or a live campaign.
Name the reviewer and authorized owner. A preparer can collect permitted references, state what is present or missing, and route a gap, but cannot choose an audience, set spend, approve a claim, schedule, publish, pause, or change a campaign.
Keep only safe references in the record. Do not paste audience lists, customer data, credentials, exports, restricted screenshots, private files, or platform-access details.
Stop and escalate when approval, claim support, consent, a destination or form check, publishing authority, access, tracking, or campaign status is unclear. Record the written owner decision and a business-set recheck after an authorized owner acts.
Stop and clarify
A completed check does not grant marketing authority.
Use the written escalation route when a request reaches targeting, spend, claims, consent, publication, restricted data, access, or an unclear live effect.
The preparer is asked to select recipients, audiences, segments, channels, targeting, exclusions, budgets, spend limits, bids, or campaign priorities.
The approved source, allowed-claim reference, checklist, consent reference, reviewer, publishing owner, or access boundary is missing or conflicts with the request.
A request would change tracking, a form, a destination, a live campaign, a platform setting, or a public newsletter or landing page.
The record includes subscriber or customer data, audience exports, credentials, private files, restricted screenshots, or access details.
The work needs a conclusion about performance, attribution, campaign priority, or what should happen next.
